I love this. The pattern is from Total Crochet by Gayle Bunn. I used Classic Elite Avalon angora blend yarn. There were a few mistakes in the pattern, but they were easy to fix.
I knit this with one strand of mohair and one strand of novelty yarn and it knit to gauge. I used a single strand of the novelty around the border to make it look "Couture". I needed to put a button on the neckline though because the yarn is heavy and it falls down in front.
I've been making these shawls and ponchos for charity. The poncho pattern is free on the Lion Brand Yarn website.
Here's another Noro Silk Garden #251 Minisweater. I love this Stephanie Japel pattern. It's knitted from the top down in one piece with no shoulders or side seams. It only takes a few days and this one only took 3 skeins. I like to buy an extra skein in case I need to match the striping.
Here's another Sexy Little Knits project, the flared crochet miniskirt in GGH Sombrero viscose ribbon yarn. I had to resize it to an XS and make it less flared. I've had to adjust every pattern that I've made from that book, but I still love it.
I made my version in Silk City Fibers Peluche & Luna. This is the same top that's on the cover of her Sexy Little Knits book. I adjusted the pattern to make it XS and didn't make the contrast cables. I also picked up the stitches off the bottom of the bodice and knit them in stockinette stitch on #15 needles with the Luna. It was pretty easy. I love it.
Hi, I just got Debbie Stoller's The Happy Hooker book this week and I really like it. I finished these both in a few days. Cold Shoulder Capelet ( Diakeito yarn. I added 2 shell rows to make it longer and made a crochet button closure instead.) I made this Garden Scarf from leftover worsted weight wool yarn. It's really cute on and the perfect weight for Los Angeles weather. I made it longer too, 17 flowers instead of 14. I'm pretty tall, so it looks better that way.
And pics of my newest little project, a Glampyre Minisweater/Boobholder in Noro Silk Garden #84. The pattern is free on the Glampyre Knits website. It only took 3 skeins and 3 days to finish. I love it.
I love this. I used Berroco Suede yarn. I had to adjust the bottom to make it fit correctly... like most of the Ashley Paige patterns I've made. Humph!
I adore knitting and crocheting gorgeous pieces in beautiful yarns. My favorite knitwear designers at the moment are Ashley Paige, Stephanie Japel (Glampyre Knits) and Mari Lynn Patrick, SweaterBabe & Stitch Diva. My favorite knitting mags are Rebecca, Knit 1 & Interweave Knits. My favorite knitting books are Domiknitrix, Sexy Little Knits & Greetings from the Knit Cafe. I love reading knitting blogs, but I'm not much of a writer, so I'll mainly post pics. Have a great day!
Here's a Noro Tubu knit cap I made for Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols for Christmas. He gave it back to me and asked me to make him a solid black one. Figures...
I just finished this Diakeito Diadomina Shawl from the Rebecca #32 pattern mag. I love it!
